Zach Wester is accused of planting drugs on people during traffic stops. The video shows Deputy Zach Wester approaching a vehicle during a traffic stop to search it. He opens the door and begins putting on his gloves. While putting on his gloves, his left hand remains closed. At some points during the video, a small bag can be seen in his hand. Later during the search, Deputy Wester finds a small bag of drugs, later determined to be methamphetamin. Wester was fired for allegedly planting drugs and tamperting with evidence. He has also been accused of planting drugs in dozens of other cases. State Attorney Glenn Hess is in the process of reviewing 263 cases where Wester was involved. In some cases, charges were dropped but they continue to review the charges on a case by case basis. At least 10 people were convicted in some cases. Deputy Wester was fired from the department. The case is still under review and it is unclear at this moment if Wester will face any charges.
