По словам игродела, иранские правоохранители начали разбирательство из-за жалобы, поданной на игру некой группой частных лиц. При этом впоследствии полиция нравов нашла жалобу обоснованной и теперь предъявила Dead Mage официальное подозрение в нарушении исламских обычаев.
Согласно Фассихи, разработчикам вменяют следующие нарушения моральных норм ислама, якобы имеющие место в Children of Morta:
наличие в игре танцев;
отсутствие хиджабов;
отсутствие упоминаний Бога;
использование магии для борьбы с демонами;демонстрация в игре похорон, проводящихся не по исламским традициям.
Фассихи также отметил, что следующим шагом будет вызов разработчиков в местный шариатский суд.Согласно закону об уголовных наказаниях, который действует в Иране, за нарушение моральных норм в медиа грозит наказание в виде лишения свободы на срок от трех месяцев до года, штрафа в размере от $30 до $180 до и/или до 74 ударов плетью. Кроме того, игроделов могут обязать удалить игру из магазинов.
