NEAR MISS!! Girl almost hit by Metra express train Chicago, IL,Autos & Vehicles,Illinois (US State),Metra (Mass Transportation System),Chicago,Train (Transit Vehicle Type),Near miss,express,train crash,edgebrook,outbound,metra station,commuter,Railroad,Public Transport (Industry),Trains,Station,Rail Transport (Industry),Grade crossing,milwaukee,north line,C&M,F40ph,bi level,cab car,budd,Nippon sharyo,amerail,Express Train (Transit Service Type),I was railfanning Edgebrook Metra station on the Milwaukee North line during evening rush hour and a Metra outbound express train going about 60-70mph was approaching the station. Metra expresses happen every weekday, but this time some girl ran across Central Ave. grade crossing at the last second, roughly 10-20 feet from the train. Literally if she was 1-2 seconds earlier she would have been hit and likely killed, this was a real near miss the train went into emergency after it passed the central ave crossing. Taken 4/13/15.
