Inspired by this sculpture of what appears to be a larva emerging from a torso. While trying to hunt down the source (its a Medici tomb decoration by Silvio Cosini, 1524-6). I did come across some people talking about the idea that these are worms that inhabit suits of armor. Using it as a way to make sense of some unwearable/decorative suits of armor, that they are actually not for humans at all. They are carapaces that protect these worms' vulnerable bodies.
My brain has been chewing on this incredible concept every since I heard it and now I have lots of ideas about these things.
Are they metalsmiths by nature or do they need humans to make their armor?
- How does their wormy little body manipulate an entire suit?- Do they outgrow their "shells" and have to trade up, like hermit crabs?- Did these worms infiltrate humanity or were they once people, now punished by a curse?- Do they live in hiding amongst medieval people?- Do they have camaraderie with their fellow worm? Can they speak?- If they grow close to a human, do they reveal their true form to them?
Я конечно понимаю, что личинка едва ли занимает треть доспеха и что сам доспех как гг игры полый. Но всё равно... Вставить гигантскую булаву в анус своему врагу, это сверх меры жестоко. Даже если он жук/личинка.
