This commercial mixes live action clips with gameplay footage, all while touting the merits of the Famicom Disk System. For those of you who don't already know, the Famicom Disk System is an add-on disk drive created for the original Famicom game system. Famicom is short for Family Computer, so the idea of releasing an optional disk drive fit well with the marketing of the system in Japan. Famicom Disk System games were cheaper than their console counterparts. They also occasionally had extra options and features. Certain games like the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros 2, were available only on the the Famicom Disk System.
