This time, the hornet's needle. Forged from a single piece of 5160 spring steel and heat treated to form a fully functional, battle ready blade. It is 64" long and weighs about 10 lbs....it is quite simply a monster of a sword. Techniques explored in this build include forge welding, power hammer work, fullers, lots of angle grinder work and of course heat treating, including annealing, hardening and tempering.
