Iconic French Wonder Lamp - Restoration,Education,my mechanics, restoration, wonder lamp, wonder lamp restoration, perfect restoration, wonder lantern, how to polish brass, how to remove rust, how to remove patina, how to paint,2k paint, lathe, mill,In this video i'm restoring an old french Wonder lamp. My good friend TysyTube Restoration bought this Wonder lamp on a flea market in Paris. He asked me if I want to restore it and obviously I said yes. He already restored two of them himself, I link his videos and channel below. These Wonder lamps are very well known in France, they're used on railroads mostly as far as I know. I first wanted to paint the inside of the lamp white, but as soon as I saw the amazing look of the sandblasted aluminium I decided to go with that. I just had to remove the casting marks first and then sandblast it again. I choose yellow for the lamp with black letters and black for the handle and the switch. It had a few brass parts that were deformed to keep them in place, which I had to grind away to loosen them. I made all these parts new on the lathe and mill and gave them a nice mirror polish. I deformed them again when reassembling, except for the threads. It was quite a challenge to organize the battery, as they're not produced anymore today. MC-51 rust remover did an amazing job on the very rusty steel parts, a bit of sanding and polishing and they appeared like brand new. Same goes for the plastic parts, I sanded them wet with 400 grit and polished them with car wax. I really like how this lamp turned out, even that the colours are not original, the yellow goes very nice with the black and polished parts in my opinion. As I mentioned above, I'll keep this lamp for myself for display. I hope you like my work and the video. In today's video we will show you the renovation of old kitchen scales. I got the scales from a friend who was doing order at home in the attic and found them there. Action Index: 0:07 introduction of the original finding state of kitchen scales 0:48 this time I decided to soak the scales in the liquor bath 1:18 We'll clean the box with brass weights while the scale is infusing 1:29 first degrease the box with technical gasoline and metal wool from grease 1:49 grease the greased box with sandpaper P180 and then P220 (in my case I sanded for a long time, because the box was engraved with the inscription :() 2:53 blow out the octagonal box thoroughly and if necessary darken with alcohol stain, I used a shade of light oak 3:25 after the stain has dried, lightly grind P220 with a sponge as the impregnated wood lifts 3:27 I prepared this box with varnish, then with wax and polish it best with flannel 4:17 for easy brass cleaning, I used a "brass cleaner" that you buy from a drugstore store 4:35 As I don't want to touch metal objects in the brass cleaner, I made a wooden tweezer 5:08 I cleaned and washed weights with metal wool and polished with polishing paste and flannel cloth 6:13 weights are done :) 6:18 After 24 hours in the caustic, remove the scales and rinse thoroughly with water 6:34 I brushed off the paint residue 7:00 followed by the dismantling of kitchen scales 8:15 Clean the distributed weight in parts using a wire disc 9:26 after cleaning, fill each part with a rust remover and after drying clean the rust remover with metal wool 10:05 I left only small parts cleaned and sprayed with clear varnish 10:11 still needed to replace the ducks, because they were not the same 11:43 as the top coat I used a synthetic color in shade of copper, as the weight was originally painted with the best foam sponge 12:40 followed by gilding 13:43 followed by patina black synthetic spray paint 14:25 I used a paint marker on the circuit lines 14:40 done, we can put down the weight 16:11 it was left to deliver and polish the brass bowl 17:10 demonstration of functionality 18:19 for this easy but very good dessert you have a recipe at the end, let me know if you tried it and how you liked it :) If you have any information about restoration photos, you can share them with others on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/951735661652138/ If you have any questions about the process, use machines or other things, ask me in the comments. 70 Year Old Blackhawk Hydraulic Jack Restoration,Education, restore, restoration, vintage tools, diy, make, maker, blackhawk tools, bottle jack, hydraulic jack, sandblasting, tool restoration, restoration video, vintage tool, lathe, jack, shop, old tools, restoration videos, tools,Restoration of a 70 year old Blackhawk hydraulic bottle jack. This is their 5 ton model, in Blackhawk red, although there was almost no paint left on it. According to the Blackhawk tool catalogs I was able to find, this jack was manufactured right around 1949. The restoration took about 20 hours not including video. Lots of very difficult to remove parts on this one. I made the handle because it needed one but I don't believe these jacks were ever sold with a handle. #restoration #restorationvideo #vintagetools Thanks for watching and please subscribe. I'll be posting new restoration videos regularly. My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/acmerestorations/ THE DECAL: Yes, you're correct, it's crooked. Hard to work around a camera sometimes. Literally "around" a camera. I didn't notice it until after the video was posted. SO, I've soaked it off and replaced it with a straighter decal :) Check out the instagram post for August 2 for a photo of the newer, straighter (used a t-square) decal. Thanks for watching!
Butane gas lighter Restoration D20 Howitzer from Soviet,Education,Restoration,Restoration video,Lighter restoration, lighter repair, lighter,Cigarette lighter,Soviet lighter,Soviet Howitzer,Soviet D20,D20,Реконструкция,видео реконструкции,советский ремонт,зажигалка для сигарет,советская гаубица,butane lighter, butane gas lighter, gas lighter,Lighter Restoration D20 Howitzer. Old butane gas lighter from Soviet and a scaled model of a 152 mm artillery gun which I restore. Pretty cool. HISTORY The D-20 is a Soviet 152 mm towed gun. The D20 Howitzer was developed during the Cold War and adopted of the Soviet army in the 1950s. It’s a very reliable gun and was solid companion for the Red Army for many years. Operators who still use this cannon today is Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and the Syrian Army. The D20 fires fragmentation grenades and can launch laser-guided projectiles as well. It can even fire nuclear rounds. Maximum effective range with fragmentation grenades is 17.4 km and the grenades exceeded 600 m/s when fired. HOW DID I GET THIS RESTORATION PROJECT I found this lighter on eBay and I was curious to see if I could repair this old Soviet Howitzer gun and make it work again. I only paid 10$ for it, so the shipping was more expensive than the item this time. RESTORATION PROCESS All the metal parts on this Howitzer D20 gun was intact but rusty. Most of the aluminium has corrosion on it, so I chose to sandblast most of the gun parts. The butane lighter was in good shape, all the parts were functional. Only the lighter ignition was stuck, but I easily got it free with a drop of WD40. I have loaded the sandblaster with glass beads this time to remove all the unwanted remains and at the same time keep as many details as possible on the gun. I chose to spray paint the whole project with military color code RAL 6031 Please subscribe if you want to see more awesome restoration projects ????
