HUMILITY “A great man is always willing to be little” Duskmother, Lady of Fear, Nightsinger, Unseen Matriarch Of the 14 fundamentals Humility embodies an act of equilibrium between one’s own self-worth with humble assertivenes, having an understanding of one’s own station and rank within the world. Humility is the god of Darkness and the night, the shadow under everyone with some modicum of power. Humility serves as a judge to those with too much hubris, ones that would dare to go against the fundamentals or the ruling powers of the world, she also punishes those who abuse their own power, humbling them before her overwhelming power. She is known as the god of fear in some circles, and the god of the thankless in others. Humility favors the unseen faces of civilization, thankless folk that keeps society’s heart beating, people like street cleaners, sewage workers, farmers and caregivers. However, Humility also favors assassins, thieves and spies as well, having great interest in nourishing their talents for her own needs. Her cults tend to be sects of Assassins or those working within the shadows, ready to humble someone should they overstep their rank. Path of Humility “Ego kills knowledge, Knowledge requires learning, and learning requires humility” “Humility is not denying your strengths, it is being honest with your own weaknesses.” “It is never about who is right, but what is right.” “Never look down on anybody, unless you’re helping them rise” “Have no fear of imperfection, you’ll never reach it.” Blessings of Humility Humility blesses her Chosen Knight with the power to bring forth someone’s deepest fears, an illusion of the highest caliber that would trap even the most intelligent of foes. She also bless them with the ability to blend into shadows, to some degree. Humility takes the form of a phantom jellyfolk The rarest and most elusive of all known seafolk. She represents both the night itself, and a gentle humility, completely contrasting pride. S>> Humility almost never show herself, instead she’d use proxies or speakers for her behalf. She also does not usually communicate to her followers directly, leading to many people to doubt even her own existence. Humility ensures none of the fundamentals overstep their boundaries, she holds great influence within the court of the 14. Being the patron to Darkness, Humility’s form resemble that of a jellyfish, a humble creature who floats by, beautiful from afar and deadly once approached. Not showing any pride, but respectfully asserting their presence. Upon closer inspection though, lies a frightening visage. / Humanoid form She has the fewest followers out of all the fundamentals, and therefore her blessings are more concentrated thus more powerful. SLOTH “Beauty in perpetuity” Timekeeper, Lady of Decay, Slumbering Potential Of the 14 fundamentals Being the keeper of time Sloth takes a much more active role when someone tries to mess with the timeline. Folks that unlocked the secrets to time magic or abuse it, will urge Sloth to act, something she detest very greatly, but she will do nonetheless with startling efficiency “Toil and bleed now, so you nor your children will have to for the future.” Blessings of Sloth Wvine form Sloth grants her champion the ability to slow the perception of time within one's own mind. This means that one can think far faster, but remain bound to time ordinarily. This is widely thought as the weakest of all blessings, but those that know how to use her abilities become extremely strong Chosen. Sloth embodies the desire of stability and indolence, she desires a world without strife and problems, an utter utopia where she could linger for time eternal. Sloth is notoriously difficult to communicate with as she usually ignores prayers or is sleeping, however, those that pester her enough shall be granted powerful gifts and blessings as if she’s trying to solve everything as quick as possible. Sloth favors hard workers, and smart thinkers, those that would do her work for her, which is quite contrary to popular belief where Sloth would like lazy folk. Her followers tend to be historians, archaeologists and researchers, as Sloth would urge one to learn from history and the past in order to create a better future, a utopia free of troubles where she finally could rest in all eternal.
