Dragon The Dragon of the East is completed and waiting on an allotment in Sneinton. How did its creator Rob Stubley get into making dragons? “I’ve been a welder and sheet metal worker since I left school. I worked in rig yards and travelled around Europe in the oil industry. Always I loved art and if I hadn’t had children and responsibilities I wlould have studied art. Then when I got to about 45 I thought it was time. I saw a poster by Gaudi and thought I’d have a go. I look forward to some more decent commissions-1 don’t want to be in the metal bashing business again!" The Dragon is soon to be sited on Sneinton Hermitage on the corner of Manvers Street- welcoming visitors to Sneinton.
