STEAM TANKETTE G. 12/82 Weisel GOTHA INSIGNIA Little Weisel The workhorse of the Grande Armée, the vehicle was originally conceived as a 10-ton carrier capable of towing supplies and ammunitions across the frontline. An order to start the development for an armoured fighting vehicle by the Imperial Gotha Committee soon paved way for the design to be armed with a one-manned turret. The result was the G.12-82 tankette, affectionately coined as the “lil’ Wiesel” by its crew. With its relative ease of production, a sober steam engine and an efficient gun, it was a capable light tank of its time. It's high production in numbers meant the tank would go on to see action on all fronts against the Confederation in the early years .
JAGDTANKETTE G. 19/86 GÜNTHER GOTHA INSIGNIA Günther The Günther was a stop-gap solution dictated by Gotha’s early war experience during the invasion of Franconia. The lack of adequate guns against the newly appeared mechas meant the need for a heavier-gunned tank soon became an urgent priority. As an interim solution, hundreds of captured heavy :i-tank artillery pieces were to merge on the readily available Weisel chassis as a makeshift tank destroyer, resulting on the Günther jagdtankette series. The Weisel tankettes provided mobility for these captured weapons, giving the army a fighting chance against the heavily armoured machines.
